The type libraries referenced in the Windows Registry do not match the installed type libraries.
This rare condition is usually caused by a mixed version Office installation, such as
- Office 2007 applications and Microsoft Project 2010
- Office 2010 applications and Lync 2013
Depending on the mix of applications, a repair install of Office may alleviate the issue. In other scenarios the registry must be manipulated manually to fix the configuration problem introduced by the mixed version Office installation.
Please note that manipulating the registry can cause problems with the operation of the computer. You should seek help of an IT professional to undertake the repair steps.
We strongly advise to make a backup of the computer registry before manipulating the registry.
We do not offer any registry scripts to alleviate the issue, but below is a list of forum posts and web pages that offer several solutions, as well as exploring the issue in more depth.
