TreeTop's Tornado Comparison allows you to compare two or more Tornado diagrams. Comparing a variety of Tornaods, typically each representing a different strategy, is often the second step in the analysis of a project, after generating the Tornado diagrams.

A complete comparison of different strategies from a Tornado perspective will often involve multiple passes. At first, a set of strategies is developed, Tornado diagrams for each strategy are generated and then compared. This comparison usually happens both at a variable-by-variable as well as on an overall strategy level.

Inisghts that are gained from this comparison may lead to the development of additional strategies for comparison. For example, it may become apparent that a particular strategy, whilst not the best overall strategy, avoids a lot of downside potential. Creating a hybrid strategy, which encompasses features from this strategy as well as features from the strategy that yields the highest value may be a hybrid strategy to develop and analyze.

TreeTop has an in-built report template for Tornado Comparisons which prompts you for answers to questions that usually lead to the important insights to be gained from a Tornado Comparison.

Use the metrics drop-down in the bottom right of the application to change the metric when viewing the Tornado Comparison.
